1. Make your writing simple and the logic clear
While writing reports for your science fair projects make your sentences short and simple. The report should be such so as to grab the immediate attention of the reader. Each sentence of the report should cater to a single idea. Run on sentences will only end up confusing the judges. Also you will find it difficult to explain your conception to the judges. Where as, if ideas follow one after another, then a definite link can be established between two corresponding paragraphs. It also becomes easier for the judges to follow your point.
Pay attention to your language
When preparing reports for your science fair projects, never use passive voice in your sentence construction. Active voice will make your report more interesting. If you use passive voice, the report becomes boring because you are not addressing the audience directly. If you use active voice, it will appear as if you are interacting directly with the judges who will definitely read your reports intently. Write in clear declarative sentences. This will make you stand out among others. Avoid using jargons
Use jargon only where it is appropriate. It's a general thinking among most that using imperceptive language can hide your lack of knowledge and ignorance. Just using verbal puffery will not make your ends meet. So using clear, clean and direct language is more welcome. Avoid including any sort of joke or witty remarks in your science fair project report. This will not help you to catch the judge's attention in any way and neither will establish your ideas. Instead you would be inviting the judge's wrath. Things to include in your project report
Your title page of the project report should include the project's title, your name and contact details. Along with this your grade and your teacher's name should also be mentioned there. It should have a table of contents that should mention the page numbers at the beginning of each section. Your introduction should explain the idea of your project, why you find it interesting and how you managed to get it. Also mention what results you hope to attain through your projects. After this go on to define your experiment. Describe what procedures you used to collect your data and arrange your observations accordingly. After going through this section, any naïve person must be able to narrate your experiment easily. In the discussion half, you have to explain what exact process made you reach the given conclusion. In the conclusion part, just give a summary of your results. You should also acknowledge the help of the people who assisted you. Lastly don't forget to include references that helped you get material for your project.
